Audio Question (HDMI vs. optical)

On a WD TV Live Plus:

Can someone confirm to me if you can get digital (DTS or DD) audio thru the HDMI output? Or is it only thru the optical output?

On either the Live or Plus DTS and AC3 are indeed passed through digitally through the HDMI cable (the manual for the Live says differently, though).
