Connecting newly purchased MCH refurb

I just received a newly purchased refurbished 8 tbyte My Cloud Home. It does not connect to my PC (win 11). Either I get a “not found” message or “device unreachable”, or if I use firefox, the device is found, but I get “approval denied”

Why is this browser dependent? (VERY BAD)
How do I clear this up - I phoned support and they suggested a full reset, which has been going for more than an hour with no end in site?

Is there a way to get into this device via SSH or some special http port? My router definitely shows it connnected.

and one more thing - after this fails, the mycloud web page gives me a link labeled "You can get your own My Cloud Home - which fails with a 404 page not found message.

Did you set it up following the User Manual?

Of course. I’ve used mycloud devices for several years.
