DS6100 Upgrade Windows (Clean Install), Increase RAM & 3rd Ethernet Port

I don’t keep track of the speed and that depends on when you’re asking me, but I know it works. Without driver, fan at constant speed the whole time and loud, whether active read or idling. I use Se HD for Raid 10, so it can get pretty hot. When at idling, without reading, just quiet air, and I can hear a drop in rpm. Generally, much louder than a Synology Box. Probably why WD completed dropped Sentinel.

If you’re one of those using Noctua fan, don’t. It is much quiet but the adequate flow to compensate for hot HD is just not there. The WD therm fan control doesn’t work with Noctua fan. I did a nonscientific test for 30 minutes, logging temp and rpm etc, but I just stopped and didn’t think it matter after I noticing the back of Sentinel box gets really hot with Noctua fan.

What’s the problem and what are you trying to accomplish now? I’m not an expert, but if you need drivers or files I can find you the direct link or even send it to you.

Right, I can live without sound alert or info on about page.

Hello cain,

i had a defective fan so i had to change it. the new fan is a cheap one and not working quite good. even though you re talking about a ds6100 and a fan size of 92mm i assume i can install this Amazon.com on my DX4000. the 2mm difference not a big deal can you please confirm?

Don’t know about a DX4000, but that fan you linked is a 92mm fan. BTW I got a Noctua fan and don’t like it. VERY quiet but it moves very little air. It causes my CPU temp to rise 10-12 degrees.

Hi,

Does anyone still have the model DS6100 ? I am looking for the model DS6100 for my project.

mkelbie I don’t suppose you happened to save a copy of those 2_2_10_19 drivers?
