Remote control suddenly stopped working

Just yesterday my WD TV Live remote just stopped working.  I swapped out the batteries, tried resetting the system, and niether worked.  I then tested to see if the IR light was working by holding my iPhone camera up to it and pressing a button on the remote.  The IR didn’t flash so I have concluded that the remote is completely broken.

My warrenty is expired, I’ve tried using the iPhone remote app.  It searches for the device, but can’'t find it.  The only other option I read about is installing WDLXTV and then being able to control the device via browser, however I can’t install WDLXTV without using a remote.

Any suggestions?

You should be able to replace the remote, right??

Tony is right … and while you’re looking for a replacment, you can try a USB Keyboard (Most work, some don’t)

Thanks for the suggestions guys,

I’m probably going to get a new remote, until then I hooked up one of my keyboards and it works perfectly.
