Very Unhappy

My cloud I should have known not to put out the money for this thing. Should have just bought storage drive could do the same thing with it. Think it would be better to build your own nas system that way you can do what you want with it not just wd says you can do. After reading what others have to say about all the problems they have with it. Think the best thing for me is to trash it and look in to build my system that works.

I agree, even no telephone or e-mail support available from WD.

What problem are you having with the My Cloud?

One should keep in mind that WD sells thousands (if not tens of thousands) of My Cloud devices every month/year. One typically does not come to this support forum unless they are having a specific a problem. As such using these support forums as some sort of an indicator on the overall problems with the all My Cloud units is not a good idea or a valid metric.

If one reads through enough of the threads here they’ll find that a fair number of problems/complaints are due to the user not reading the User Manual or having some local network (configuration) issue that is not related to the My Cloud, but which the My Cloud highlights when introduced to their local network.

By and large the My Cloud will work for most people once it’s setup properly on their local network. Its the remote access to the My Cloud or specific OS problems, often introduced by the OS maker, that generate a good number of complaints here. Often those issues have been discussed and resolved in prior threads in this user to user support forum.
