Why did I start having these issues after I upgraded the second unit to 1.02? I don’t understand that. The wd’s see the content on my PC fine but will not stream at all. They also find each other fine, one now plays you tube and the other does not. “No content is available” is the error now showing when it used to work fine. What is really weird is that the new unit is teathered through my cisco mediaroom iptv set top box and now works great but the other wd is cat5e run and doesn’t do squat! At this point - feel like buying a ps3… That’s"s terrible. Lol
If you ever tried to play a known-bad MKV file (one with Header Compression enabled) it will lock the boxes up and require a reset. Is that a possibility?
As far as I know I have not attempted to play any newer mkv’s in the last three weeks. Most of the content I have tried to play has been existing content that I have had for a while and preiously played fine. I did however have one box lock up while putzing around last week. I have checked the resourses on the files and they all appear to be older dubs. What is the easiest way to update them to 1.03 beta?
There’s only one way, whether it’s easy or not. ;)
Check out the FIRMWARE section of this forum, and look at the top list of threads that mention the betas.
Be careful to select the correct one; there’s a Live and a Live+.
I have been replying from the BB this morning, it can be a pain surfing the web with it. Lol
Ok, so since my last update, I tired all the suggested methods and came to the same problem. However I did find out one thing about my previous set up is that the Motorola/SMC Coax to Ethernet adaptor is not compatible with the providers HPNA out put on my router/modem. So I tethered the WD through my Cisco IPTV box. Works great! Anyways I downloaded the BETA 1.03 firmware and loaded it up on the stubborn WD first. Presto! It works just fine. Next I then loaded it on the Second (Main) WD device and Presto ! It works! I have had subtle lag issue with the tethered unit but If I shut off the TV Box No problems! So far it’s been two days and no major issues thus far.
