Hi all
So I had this drive as an external drive for a while and then never set it up after moving. I am able to get the drive visible in windows explorer, computer management, DOS, etc. but if I try to do anything with the drive it does not respond. For example, if I right click on the drive in windows, windows explorer becomes nonresponsive. An attempt to navigate to the drive in DOS just locks up. I have not tried the BIOS route but will do that shortly. If this drive is in my desktop as an internal drive, the pc fails to boot. Currently, I have it as an external drive again.
Any thoughts on what is wrong? I tried using the wd diagnostics program but it runs “detect” drives and then that small window disappears and nothing happens (I did chose run as administrator).
