1 TB 5400 rpm WD Blue HDD high temps, please help!

Hi to all,
I have a Lenovo Y-700-15ISK laptop,with 1 TB 5400 rpm WD Blue HDD.

I have recently noticed that the HDD’s temps are around 40 and over 40 degrees Celsius, while it is almost idle; while installing bigger games it reaches 50 degrees Celsius and it keeps that temp for a while!
I am very concerned about the 50 degrees Celsius, and these days the temps are not below 43 degrees Celsius!

Today it reached 50 degrees Celsius without decreasing!

Please tell me if there is a possibility for damaging of the HDD,and is there some software with which I could test the cause of the high temps, and its health?

Please help me!
Thanks to all in advance!
Best regards!

Have you been able to test the hard drive in a desktop as a secondary hard drive? If temperatures are lower while testing this way then it’s a problem with the design of the laptop itself.

If it still hovers over 30 degrees in idle and 45 under load then I’d recommend replacing the hard drive.
