first off, my setup:
1 win 7 x64 machine with a usb drive with 2 movie folders, both shared with permissions for full control for everyone
2 other win 7 x64 machines (no videos, etc shared on these) all networked using win 7 home group
WD Live TV is using latest firmware (just got it last Friday) with a USB drive plugged directly into the WD.
media server = on
folders are added in the media library (for the 1 win 7 network pc with usb drive)
problem 1: after uploading video onto the usb drive connected to the WD Live, it shows multiple folders of the same show. using WD to select and delete one of these folders deletes all folders and content from teh drive (note on the usb drive itself, it shows only 1 folder) this has happened 2 times with 2 different shows/folders
problem 2: after turning on the WD Live, one of the networked media folders was not showing up (the other 2 still show up, but not the 3rd). the folder is still shared, the pc was not rebooted. i rebooted the WD and still no luck. i can see the folder in the files section on the WD, but not under media library. any ideas as to whats causing this and how to correct?
i have read on these forums that a win 7 homegroup causes issues, but the posts were older. are there still issues running WD Live in a homegroup environment
any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
