2 TB WD Hard Drive

I have recently bought a 2TB WD hd for my WD TV Live Media Player and copied everything from my 1TB WD hd across - and added a few more things.

When I have come to connect the new 2tb drive my player does not register a drive being there. I cross referenced this by plugging back in the 1tb drive and that worked fine. I have the player connected to the internet and it is fully up to date with the software. I don’t really know what else to do.

Can anyone help?

If you’re not running the latest firmware, and the drive is formatted as GPT, then yes, the drive won’t be recognized.

The choices would be to format the drive as MBR instead of GPT, or update to the latest firmware which supports GPT drives.

What firmare verson are you using?  (go to Settings>System Settings>About)

How is the 2TB disk partitioned? (MBT or GPT)

How is the disk formatted? (NTFS, FAT32, HPFS)

Firmware version is :  1.05.04_V

Both disks are formatted to NTFS

Not sure about partition - checked in Disk Manager and right clicked on drive number, there was a greyed out option to convert to GPT.

Both drives seem to be exactly the same throughout these checks.
