3TB My Book not compatible with blu-ray player

I have a brand new 3TB My Book external hard drive.  I can save files, ie; videos, music, pictures, but my LG Blu-Ray player isn’t reading the drive.  The player acknowledges the drive being plugged in, but doesn’t read any files on it.  I have reformatted the drive, using both NTFS & exFAT (as those are the only2 options), neither of them work.  How can I get my blu-ray player to read the external drive?

Try posting in the TV section. Your player may not handle a drive that size.

Please confirm with the bule-ray manufacturer that your unit will support a 3 TB external hard drive.

If the drive is working properly on a computer, there’s nothing that we can suggest you to do that will make it work on a third party device if the size of the unit is not supported by the device.
