A common issue?

Hi Folks

I’ m new to this forum and a new WD customer, so apologies if I’m posting in the wrong place.

Essentially I’m having issues with reliable playback of video across my wired network, the media player reboots at random intervals. I have no idea if this is a network issue, a firmware issue or something entirely different, but if somebody could point me in the right direction that would be good.

This is my setup:

WD Mybookworld II → WD Livewire AV network → WD TV Live HD media player

You’d imagine that this hardware would play nicely together, however the media player reboots whether its playing media or not. The Media center is running the latest firmware.

I’d really like to resolve the issue, its spoiling my WD experience…I just dont know where to start.

Thanks in advance.

I would say not a common issue. I have seen on occasion my unit reboot or start acting up, but not all the time. you might try a reset of the unit and or reflash. see if that helps.

I’ve tried the reset now:

paperclip → factory settings → power down

No joy, the unit still reboots itself at inopportune moments. Is anybody else having this issue? Has anybody had similar problems which have been resolved by rolling back the firmware?

…Last resort I guess.

Try shutting off EVERYTHING on your network except the equipment required to stream from your MBW to your WDTV.

See if the problem still happens.

Have you contacted support? Maybe you have a bad unit and the power connector is loose or something. I’ve seen that in other electronic devices.
