Actual Usable Amount Of Disk Space On A 4TB My Cloud

Hi All;

As my subject line states, I’m trying to find out the actual usable space on a 4TB My Cloud. I have a 4TB WD My Book backing up the My Cloud (not raid, just a straight backup) but there’s a difference of 100GB from the My Cloud Vs. the My Book (My Cloud = 3.53TB - My Book = 3.63TB). For the last week the My Cloud, “Dashboard” has not been showing the, “Capacity Free” and has periodically given an, “Error” in the, “Diagnosis” and, “Content Scan” Windows. I put this down to the fact that I had to move about 1.4TB (drive failure on a different hdd necessitated this move) onto the My Book and then transfer it to the My Cloud. This morning all seems to be normal on the dashboard except for the 100GB difference between the two drives. Any help will be very much appreciated!

Welcome to the Community.

Have you tried performing a drive health test under settings? The error messages you have listed are not normal. This could also affect available space.

Thank you, Trancer! I thought I had scoured the options but I somehow missed that one…I’ll give it a go and report back.
