Add a new disk on Raid 5

Hello

I m new very happy owner of a EX4. First, I put 3 hard disks (the WD special Red 4To). So my EX4 run, format, put the 3 hard disks in Raid 5: good, that’s what i need.

A 4th hard disk (also a WD Red 4To) has arrived last week. So I’ve put it directly in the 4th bay… but the global size of storage has not changed… Like if the Raid 5 doesn’t include the 4th hard disk… I ve shut down the EX4, ran it again… It doesn’t change…

I’ve the possibility to clear everything, format all, and go back to the beginning (modify the Raid 5), but it means I ve got the make a new migration of my data : heavy !

Any solution ?

Have you tried rebooting the EX4? Check page 133 of the manual for more information.

Currently we do not support horizontal migration like this. This will be coming in a firmware release in the next month or so (sorry to be vague as it is still in testing and things change).
