I just purchased the DL4100 and have two questions. First, I have 4 WD 4TB drives: 1 Black, Two Green, and 1 Red. Does anyone know if I can I use all of these drives in my new DL4100. Will the Dl4100 automatically format the drives when installed or can I use the drives ‘as is’ without losing the data residing on the drives?

A RAID volume with different drives is not recommended. It is very likely to result in data corruption due to differences in hard drive behavior and firmware.

The RAID volume will need to be selected and created within the unit’s Dashboard. The hard drives will be erased since the RAID volume will need to sync the drives.
