Just thought I would say, loving the theme.

Ditched linksheets just to use this, loving the dark colours and the speed. Just use the large cover view as I have seen 99% of my movie info by now anyway, and just like big pictures. :slight_smile:

I am using these Genre icons and they look good.

when i display the actors in gallery view, is it possible to set a maximum value of actors that are displayed? i dont want a name to get cut off in the middle

No, you can’t specify Maximum Values for Actors.

Just as you can’t specify Maximum Values for Movie / Tv Titles.

All you can do is specify the “Width” or use a “Scroller”

“Width” will cut off text

“Scroller” will scroll the text (but doesent work with “Actors”)

It may however work with the Latest Firmware which has “Actors” with a single tag now.

I’m fixing all the little bugs and adjustments in the “standard” versions 1st

I have a small problem with the main menu and I can’t see how to get it right. I have tryed all the themes from Alaska Revisited (dark and light) and all the themes have this small problem.

I wanted to fix it, but I can’t see to find the code I need to delete.

I think nobody noticed it because it is difficult to see, it’s not my intention to post a bug, but I am just curious how I can solve this.

When you play music, you can push the Home button on the remote and you will go to the home screen. On the bottom left you have a nice image of the cd you are listening to. But you also have the album name inside the menu icon that’s called now playing.

I have difficulties creating a screenshot, so I took the good old paint tool on my computer and I found an image from an older version of this theme. I marked in pink where the album title is displayed in white letters:

In this image you won’t see the white letters, but if I could create a good screenshot you can see it.

Does anyone have a clue how to get rid of this? I can adjust codes myself, but this is a difficult one. In other themes (like CoCo) it’s gone, so it should be somewhere in the xml codes?

I have what I guess is a question. I haven’t used Pandora on the WDTV Live SMP for a while but the last time I did I remember it being easy to jump to the next song. I just installed the latest firmware on the box and reinstalled Alaska Dark and everything is working great except I can’t seem to get Pandora to skip to the next song. Either I just don’t remember how to do it, which is a distinct possibility or something is not working right.

Can someone remind me how you skip to the next tune in Pandora on the WDTV Live SMP??

[SCROLLING ANIMATED ICON MENU]

You can not get rid of the WHITE letters in the Now Playing Screen … it’s Hardcoded into the Firmware.

The WHITE at the Bottom of the Home Icons is also hiding “New Items” for media.

[SCROLLING NON ANIMATED ICON MENU]

This method does not display the song playing at the bottom of the Home Menu Icon.

Summary, 2 different methods with Pros and Cons .

How did you get the genre icons from the site you listed to work with the WDlive, im new to this and still learning.

Thats correct, put the jpg in the folder of choice and name it folder.jpg

I have tried it with dark and it still shows the standard background *on the main menu. Is there anything I can do other than just set the background in setup?

Ok, apologies … Alaska Backdrop can be changed for all views   Except the Main Menu

 

Why ???  Because WD made the “Focused Icon” Non-Transparent …  This is a 2 Year Issue which has never been fixed.

The Focused icon has a Hard coded background to blend in with the Home Menu background. Gives the illusion of Transparency.

 


 

“Changing the Backdrop in Setup”  that’s the “Long Way Round” … i just go to Photos from the Main Menu press “Option” on my Picture and set as Background.
