Hi,
I downloaded the photos app to my iPhone4 today and have run into a problem.
I clicked the “Help getting started” button, and after logging into my WD account, was happy to see that it had recognised the server.
However, there were no folders or photos, and when I went back to find the help button again, it was gone!
So now I am stuck not knowing how to make the photos show, or if there are any other features to it.
Is the Help button supposed to disappear?
How do I access the files on my hardrive, from my iPhone?
Help!
(I have a 4TB WD harddrive, if that helps)
Hi there, the pics and folders need to be exactly inside the Public Pictures folder on your NAS, after that then just make sure the service is active on the drive configuration page (Can you post the model number of your drive?)
The Help button will appear again if you sign out of the app.
To sign out of the app, you’ll need to click the “Edit” button in the upper right-hand corner of the app, then select the red “-” icon on your WD Network Drive in the Edit screen.
You will not see your .jpg/jpeg files immediately after attaching your drive to your MioNet account, since the drive is busy transcoding the files into smaller versions that will load onto your device more easily. The .jpg/jpeg files and their folders in Public\Shared Pictures will automatically be transcoded once your drive is attached to your MioNet account. You should start seeing a few photos after a few minutes. The entire transcoding process depends on the number of .jpg/jpeg files in the Public\Shared Pictures directory, their size, and what other processes your drive is also running. It can take up to 2 weeks in some cases (over 100k), or as little as a few minutes in others (less than 10 photos).
