I really cannot begin to express enough my much I dislike this product. I can never access it from the mobile app! I always get a number of error messages.
I will reset it and it works for 5 minute’s, then I get another error and it quits working. I unplug it, plug it back in, and it works for 5 minute’s then I get another error messages.
Also, when I try to log in from the browser it says it’s offline.
Weird this is that I have a WD external hard drive plugged into my ASUS router and I can access my cloud through that with no troubles at all, but the ■■■■ MyCloud app won’t work
What mobile device are you using? iOS or Android? What is the specific error message you are receiving? Can you post a screen shot of the error message? Are you trying to access the My Cloud remotely or on the same local network? If remotely, can you access the My Cloud using the MyCloud.com web portal?
For remote access, have you tried disabling Remote Access/Cloud Access within the My Cloud Dashboard then re-enabling it? Have you tried configuring the remote access through the Dashboard to manual and enabling port forwarding to the My Cloud within the local network router?
I’m using Android.
This error I just got when trying to open the app was "Network Connection Failure(905).
It doesnt work when I’m trying to access remotely through the MyCloud App.
I cannot access the MyCloud web portal. It says its offline.
As far as remote access, yes I have tried disabling the Remote Access / Cloud Access within the Dashboard.
Other troubleshooting steps to try. Access the My Cloud Dashboard and disable the remote access/cloud access option and leave it Off for five to ten minutes, then re-enable it. Then test remote access again.
Sometimes one may have to set the Remote Access setting to Manual and enable port forwarding with their router to get remote access to work.
In certain rare cases one’s ISP/broadband provider may be blocking 80/443 inbound access to the local network/My Cloud which typically means one has to change remote access to manual and configure alternate ports (ex: 8080/4443) and enable those same ports to be port forwarded within the network router.
