I have Synology DS411j, I think it is 6 years old. I connect 5 eksternal usb-hdd attached to a hub, and it works quite fine. But it takes like 3-4 minutes after I turn the wdtv on to everything works. The synology have to wake up the usb-discs, everything is very slow, really. When scrolling through the movies it takes maybe 2-4 seconds before thumbnails keep up with the scrolling, on each side.
Anyone have some experience with newer NAS? If I could be ready to start watching in half the time I will buy a new NAS. But maybe this is the time it takes?
