My portable USB drive with my songs on as artwork that is recognised my windows media player.
but my WD does not see them all I get is black records
do I have to put the artwork on all over again.

Same thing happens to me. I use to put artwork with Itunes on a Mac and it works fine. But 70% of my collections of MP3 are not showed properly on WD TV LIVE.
I followed all the instruction to display properly artworks with FLAC also but with no result.
Any advice?

One reason with Windows media player may be that the artwork is not embedded into the file. I believe that it is saved separably from the mp3, therefore the wdtv is unable to show it.
To see your artwork you must either embed it into the file in such a way that the live can see it or create an artwork jpg with exactly the same file name as the music track.
You can use MP3tag to embed artwork correctly into files.
What I have done is take all my albums made them into different direcories then in each of the directories i put a jpeg of the the album , it works on some of the albums but not all …strange
but my main prob is only the last tracks of an album are played pressing next brings up the last track of the next album
