I have some AVI movies with separate subtitles (.srt) and used to play on my tv connected to my notebook. I put both files (film + subtitle) in one same file under the same name and it works well. But on the WD TV, it plays only the movie without subtitle. How can I have them played together?
What language are the subs?
And how are you connecting to the files, via Network Shares or Media Server?
Media Server connections won’t pass the subtitle to the Live (limitation of the DLNA spec).
Won’t do you much good though since some braniac decided to set the outline color of SRT subs to transparent so they’re difficult to read.

I have problem like that: just copied movie to hdd (also WD) - sometimes I can’t see file on WD Player, sometimes I can see movie but I can’t see subtitles. When I’ll connect drive to computer and next to Player (two times), then I can see everything.
Welcome to the forums. As was asked of the OP, how are you playing your files? Using Media Server won’t work – you need to use Net Shares.
And not all subs can be played with the Live. Assuming you are using Net Shares (or playing from a locally attached drive) you can post the Media info for both one of the files and the subs for us to look at.
