Backing up My Book Live itself

My MyBook Live is my backup destination for our various PCs & Macs.

It also where I store shared data like pictures, videos & music which I would like to backup.  Safepoints back up the entire drive which I dont want to do.

Is there a way of just backing up my data but not my backups from PCs & Macs?

You can do anything you want with rsynch, then schedule a cron job to run whenever you want it.

Looks complicated.

So my destination USB HD plugged into the router has to be a server to run rsynch? It can’t just be a plain HDD?

I would have thought most people would want to do what I describe. Couldn’t Safepoint have the option to select which folders to backup or synchronise?
