Backups to external drive

I currently have a single 2TB MyCloud gen.1 and looking to get the EX2 Ultra. Reading the manual for the EX2 it mentions USB backup but that looks like folder to folder. I want to backup all the NAS files/folders to the external drive USB connected.

So how would I do that? Is there a way to do incremental backups?

Yes, you can create the backup of all the NAS files to the external drive.
