Bad sectors?

I just purchased 8TB internal drive WD80EFZX and I have been doing initial tests to check the drive. My problem is that HDDScan shows bad sectors when its doing the scan. There seems to be more bad sectors than good ones. However it does not report any problems in SMART data. CrystalDiskInfo does not report any problems in SMART data either. I have also ran extended test with WD Data Lifeguard and that does not report any issues. Since I just purchased the drive I could get a replacement but if the drive is good I dont see the point. Could it be that HDDScan is not working as intended? Im kind of worried that it might be the drive also. So any ideas? Thank you.

Hello there,

What program are you using to test the drive ? Just in case please follow this link which will help diagnose the drive with DLG (Data lifeguard Diagnostic):

If this tool also states the drive has issues then i suggest replacing it.

It says mine has too many bad sectors? My serial number has been deleted by a Mod, it’s the 1tb one. I’m using the Western Digital LifeGuard Diagnostics tool on win10. When I look at the S.M.A.R.T. Drive Info it has an X beside Raw Read Error Rate. Any ideas on how to fix? I don’t see where the repair option is, probably just being blind!

Dulwich, there is no repair. If your disk has problems and is under
warranty you can send it in to WD. If it doesn’t have warranty you are out
of luck. You can use it for the time being but I wouldn’t store anything
important on it that you don’t want to lose.
