Can access locally only the puvblic area of My Cloud Home

After the service for My Cloud Home was stopped, I enabled local access, which worked for a while.
Now, it stopped working. I can still see the Public and TimeMachone folders but not my private folder.
I can still access the disk from the Web interface.
Discovery sees the disk, but when I try to enter the password, it shows me the end-of-service screen.
Are there any of the following alternatives possible:

  1. restore access to the entire disk locally.
  2. bulk copy of the data through the web interface
  3. extract physically the disk from the box and read it directly from a Linux machine.

@oregbandi

I’m not aware of the My Cloud Home service being stopped. Are you sure that is what you own?

Try a Knowledge Base search. Look at this link.
How to Enable Local Network Access on a My Cloud Home and ibi Without Cloud Services (wd.com)

I have an older WDMYCLOUD 1st generation that I use on my home network. Mine is working fine.

Yes, this is what I own. As I mentioned, it worked, and then suddenly, the private directories became inaccessible.

Hi all. I have the same problem. This morning something happens and now I cannot access private data from windows explorer, but I can access all data from web interface.

I restored Windows (11) to previous checkpoint (when everything was ok), but no success.

I can access locally to Public an TimeMachine folders but not to my private data.

Any idea?

Hi,
My My Cloud Home started slow blinking about 90 minutes ago. I could get into my public folder but now I can’t access anything locally as of 5 minutes ago.

You two above need to ‘Clear Device Settings’ as described all over this subforum, there must be like 20 threads on this by now. Everybody please read a little more.

** This below, on the other hand, is a different problem. The is something amiss with the network, router or the MCH is busy doing some other task such as indexing or updating other data. You may need to download the debug_logs.tar from your MCH and open a support ticket or analyze the logs yourself.

NoPlex, you’re right. Finally I descovered the solution and I want to try before posting anything, but you answered before… Sorry for that!

So, It works! Thank you very much.

Please reread my message. I enabled local access, and I accessed the drive locally. Suddenly, access to the private area is unavailable.
I still have web access to individual files but cannot back up the entire drive > 3.5 TB of data.
If you know how I can access them from the command line with wget or curl, that would be good enough.
