Can I Power Down Computer While MBL is Doing Full Factory Restore?

Good Morning

I am planning to do a full factory restore and it looks to take a long time. I started the process on my laptop but was wondering if I could shut down the laptop while the MBL is completing the restore?

I figured it should be no problem since all the activity is done on the MBL and the laptop is only showing the current status but I just want to be sure.

Thank you!

The same as when you are updating the firmware, it is not recommended to turn the computer off, close or refresh the browser while the restore is running.

You can safely close the browser and disconnect your computer from the network - while the full factory restore is running.  The full restore takes a “long” time.  You can periodically recconect to the MBL from any browser to check on the status of the restore.   I did this myself without any consequences  - however - it does get a little weird towards the end of the restore and you have to make sure that the restore step completes - as well as the reboot step after the restore completes (which also takes quite a bit of time).

It would probably be best if you were to do the full factory restore from a machine that can be left on with the browser open to the restore page - until the process completes in it’s entirety.  If you don’t have a spare machine that can be dedicated to the restore - and you need to disconnect, reboot, or use your computer for other purposes while the restore is running - then it should be okay to do so - just pay close attention to the MBL and tail end of the restore process.
