Can I share a folder to anyone on the internet, for pictures

Yes.

If you open the WD My Cloud program on your PC and browse to the folder you want to share. Then right-click on the folder (or file) you want to share. Select the third option from the top - “Copy Link”. Then paste the link into an email and send it to the person you want to share with.

The recipient can then open the link in a browser and access the folder (or file).

If you share a folder then the opening the link leads to download of a zip file with the contents of the folder.

If you choose a single file to share then opening the link leads to download/opening of the file.

What’s the difference between the my cloud mirror and the gen 2?

There is a difference in price and I can’t see what the differences are.
