Just bought G Drive mobile USB-C from Apple store and was told OK to use on Windows to backup info and to transfer this info to Mac. It then will be used mostly on Mac. Have not plugged it in yet, want to know if this is accurate before. If this is possible how to proceed. Thanks.
Hello,
Yes the drive can be used on both platforms. Out of the box the drive is formatted for a Mac only. But we have instructions on how to format it for both platforms.
Hello,
I read the attachment but still confused. If I format for PC will it still be formatted for Mac? Or do I have to format for each before using?
It will primarily be used for Mac, but I want to load all pictures from the PC onto the G Drive and then transfer all photos to Mac. Is this doable? If so could you give me some brief guidelines how to go about the transfer.
I’m sorry if these are dumb questions. It is my first Mac (6 mo old) and I don’t want to screw up anything. And besides, I’m an old dude.
Thank you.

The instructions I linked have a step at the end of them that shows you how to format the drive as exFAT. exFAT read and writable on both platforms. So once you’ve done that it will work on both.
