Can Not Bring Up The Backup Screen

Hello. I have two WD My Book external drives. One is new and the other is about one year old. The new one is installed on my HP pc and has the WD Smartware installed. After initial instillation the backuo screen came up and I did a backup and programmed it to do a data update a couple of times a week. The older one is on my wife’s HP pc and did not have the Smartware with it. I copied it from the new one and installed. When I tried to bring up the backup screen by clicking the WDBackupEngine.exe application nothing happened. I tried the same on my pc and it also would not start the backup screen. I know I must be doing something stupid but I tried clicking other app file and still no luck. Can someone point me in the right direction Thanks

Please note that WD Smartware will only work with drives that came with WD Smartware included.

Thanks very much for the advice. I think I see where I was messing it up. I was trying to open it with a shortcut. I have to go to the system tray and find it in the hidden icons. Works ok then. Also my older WD MyBook drive did not come with the smartware software but I did copy it from the new drive and it works .
