Can't acces to private share on WD MBL

Hello …

I have a problem with access to the files on the NAS with Linux share.
WDTV live with streaming does not asks for a user name or password in the settings of the player also does not have or can not find the auto login settings (such suggestions I read in posts on the forum).

So I question whether this player can connect to the NAS via linux share to private shares.

thx .

Linux Shares (NFS) doesn’t use authentication.  It won’t ask for UID/PW because there aren’t any.

thank you very much

I understand that I can not get in this way to the  private shares due to the limitations or properties NFS.
The next question in this case as how I can get to private shares in the My Book Live.
Do I need to install additional packages to my book live (another sytem transmission) or  simply change some options in the WD MBL, WD TV.

I want to get  functionality like this:

  1. WD MBL is a NAS server and the files on it are few users such as : My ;  Brother, Sister …
  2. each of us has his wdtv live in room and have access to the shares assigned to the WD MBL ,so that files which we should watch,  like my pictrues , my movies itp …

Can I  get this functionality on a combination " wdtv live streaming + WD MBL " ???.

what can I do ?? …

thx .

sorry for my english

Access the MBL via WINDOWS shares.

wrrrrrr …

the next day and still nothing …
is it possible that I am so stupid to not be able to connect of these two boxes …

… tell me what should be checked in the MBL options to allow to connect to the SMP through the windows share …

Tel me step by step if you can what i should to do …

Here’s what I’ve done

MBL has set up the same unique work group as SMP
MBL has a unique name
SMP has a unique name

what I’m doing wrong with the SMP does not see the network shares through the windows share

If I serching by NFS has no problem all is vissible  but NFS dasn’t support password  … now i know it …

thx …

See if this tutorial for troubleshooting helps:

The steps you’ve already described are really all there is to it.

ok…

fortunately I does not had to change anything …
I cleaned again login information on SMP, attributed the aisle again work group on NAS , new user and it works on the windows share … not without two restarts … but it is a success …

Thx :):)  for your help now as I wanted with division functioned access rights …

The biggest mistake lay in ignorance of distinctions between Windows and Linux NFS share …

the message in the attached link really not much I understood , but I take up for re-acquainted with him …

I like to know what could be the problem and how to eliminate

thx …
