The MyCloud is hooked up properly to my router fine, I can get to it from my main PC, however when I try and access it on my other PC in the basement I can’t locate it. What am I doing wrong as it doesn’t show up ANYWHERE.
Thanks

Is your basement PC on the same network , subnet and windows workgroup?
Can your basement PC get to the router?
Can you ping between the two PCs? Or see the other computer in windows file explorer, under ‘computers’?
Can you ping the mycloud’s IP address from the basement PC?
If so, enter that IP address into a web browser, appended with/UI which ought to get you to the dashboard.
Okay I was able to connect using the WD My Cloud application. Is there a way to connect the drive as a drive mapping? I ask cause I download some things off the network and don’t feel like clogging my hard drive space.
Thanks
Yes, there is. Use Windows ‘Map Network Drive’, select a drive letter, browse to the MyCloud folder/share, select re-conect at logon, use ‘connect using a different user name’ or similar: enter your MyCloud user name (first name) and password.
Google found me this instruction, second hit:
If you haven’t already done so, download and read the user manual; it tells you all this stuff…
Gonna level with you. I am having a hard time downloading my torrents. It starts the download fine and then about a 1/3 of the way thru it keeps saying network error (error writing to disk). The drive is there on my network and it’s mapped properly…Not sure what else to do.
Are the PCs wired or wireless connection to the router?
The PC where the MyCloud is wired. My PC is wireless. I am thinking that it’s a signal issue. I redownloaded something and changed the download location from my mapped drive to the Network Location but I can’t access all of the folders there. In the WDMYCloud I only have Music, Photos, and Videos, no other shares that I’ve created.
WiFi. Basement. Very likely poor signal, or interference. To test if it’s the MyCloud causing problems, download a torrent to your PC’s HDD. It could still be the WiFi, since data would have to flow from router to PC, then PC to router to MyCloud, and both links could get degraded.
You’re looking at the DLNA Media Server in the File Explorer view. You need to look for the File Server.
You know that manual I mentioned…?
I can download fine to my local HDD
