I am desperately after some help. Cant seem to access my files on my WD passport. It says not initialised. I cant initialise the disk as it says the request failed due a fatal hardware error.
Can anyone help?

For anyone facing this problem I found a solution that worked in my case. Pretty obvious but it took me a minute so here ya go:
After trying a new cord and looking at recovery options I ultimately tried unplugging the power supply and replugging it back in. Cycling the power caused the drive to came right back to life and it appears to be working normally.
I experienced this issue after moving my computer system, the drive appeared dead as I got everything going, cords all run and tucked away (incl power cord). Finally occurred to me to try “restarting” the drive by cycling the power. It worked in my case. YMMV.
