Can't connect to My Cloud Home from my iMac so can't upload files / sync

When trying to sign in from my iMac desktop I get the message ‘My cloud is having trouble connecting to the server. Check your internet connection and try again’.

Can anyone help, please?

I can see this problem was raised 1 year + ago but I can’t seem to resolve the issue.
