Can't connect to WDMyCloud

you are writing in the support note that I need to update the MyCloud Firmware
however without access (I get the error message can’t connect to WDMyCloud) I cannot get into the settings to update the MyCloud Firmware

so what is now a proper solution?

What diagnostic steps have you taken so far?

  • have you ever managed to connect to the MyCloud?
  • what is the front panel LED indicating?
  • what are the Ethernet port LEDs indicating?
  • what router are you connecting to?
  • have you tried a different router port?
  • have you tried a different ethernet cable?
  • how are you trying to connect to the MyCloud? The Dashboard?
  • what device are you using to try to access the MyCloud? Mac/PC? What OS?
  • have you tried a 4-second reset?
  • have your tried a 40-second power-up reset?
