Apparently I’m hooked up via my router to the SMP. I can send files from the computer to the SMP flash drive with no problem; however, the SMP apparently cannot find my Windows Shares. I get a screen with the slowly spinning arrow and a it sets there forever.
Any thoughts as to moving this along, pointing it to the specific shared directories, limiting it’s search time or otherwise working toward a solution, please let me now. I appreciate your advice.
PS I do have a very large number of files on the computer.
After chasing dozens of threads to resolve this, the solution was real simple.
I had everything set up correctly (folder shares, permissions, etc.): however, my the sharing computer has both a wired connection to my router and it also has wireless capability. Apparently, because the wireless is automatically turned on when the computer boots up, the network was confused with 2 signals being transmitted.
Once I turned the wireless off leaving only the computer’s wired connection to the router, everything works perfect !
They say “live and learn”; I just wish the learn part wouldn’t take so long.
