Can't Play Nedia Files on TV

My MyCloud Personal (OS3) is connected to my router (ASUS AX-3000) via Ethernet. MP4 files are stored in the public share. My Samsung TV sees the Twonky server, but when I click it I get “No Content Found” error. Windows 11 File Explorer sees the share and plays all the files.

Media streaming is ON in settings and for the Public share. “View Media Players” sees the TV. I rescanned and rebuilt the DNLA data base. I rebooted MyCloud. No change.

I upgraded to OS5. The TV can now see the MP3 files, but won’t play. I get error to check the network connection. I know the connection is good because Win 11 File Explorer can see and play all media files. I also have a WD MyPassport Wireless Pro connected to the same router via WiFi. The TV and File Explorer can both see and play all media files on this drive.

Due to problems caused by recent power outages, I had to replace my router (ASUS RT-AC68U) and reset (40 second) MyCloud. Prior to these changes, my TV Identified the NAS as WDMyCloud, instead of Twonky Server and the TV could see and play the media. Media streaming was “ON” for the share, but I didn’t make any changes in MyCloud settings.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi @sailguam,

Thanks for the response. Yes, I also opened a support ticket. THey acknowledged my ticket, but no response yet.

For anyone with the same problem, I found the problem.

The shared folder on the Twonky dashboard settings tab was /Public. I never checked this setting before resetting MYCLOUD when streaming media was working. I tried browsing for /public on the Twonkt sharing tab. Twonky couldn’t see the folder. I changed the shared folder from /public to /shared/public. Media files are now visible and play on my TV.

Unfortunately, Twonky doesn’t see all the files in the public share.
There are quite a few folders and media files in the shares/public folder. Twonky only sees a few. I will try to resolve this later.

Thanks
