Can't rewind/fastforward a file after shutoff?

This is starting to bug me:

If I stop playback and power down the machine (if i have to leave my apt for a bit, then return to finish movie) once I boot back up it asks me if I want to continue from where I left playback. I click ‘yes’ then the machine just stalls and shows a black screen. I then hit ‘back’ and try and restart the file from the beginning. Once I do this, I can’t rewind or fastforward through the file at all.

This happen to anyone else?

This defenitely will happen for m4v files. What file you were watching ?

It has happened to both mkv files and m4v.
