My WD TV MODEL WDBYMN0000NBK-HESN won’t sort by date. I have a wired connection with plenty of bandwidth. The player sees all my content but it sorts alphabetically, how can I get it sort by date added?

You need to have your Content Source set to My Media Library for Sorting and also add your shares to My Media Library under Network Source Management
