Hi have a 3TB Red drive, chkdsk /B is reporting over 384008336KB of bad sectors HD Sentinal(trial) also says drive is reporting incorrect size(its says its 746.5GB)yet DLG is saying all is well. I have lost data off this drive(thankfully I have backups)so all is not well. I would just RMA this but DLG(fast and extended) says all is well and have passed. Any thoughts?
update just removed the partitions from this drive using windows disk manager, is is also now showing capacity of 746GB… RMA time
In my experience, WD will RMA a drive with far fewer bad sectors if it is under warranty. Just fill out the form on the WD site.
