Cloud device stops uploading from 70 GIg's and shows error message

Hi Guys,

I am new over here. I just bought My Cloud device to have backups of my pictures and videos… I am trying to transfer from my hard disk to my cloud device, about 800 Gigabytes, it stops doing so after 70, and gives error messages of the docuemnts which can not be uploaded… Does somebody had this problem before, and knows how to fix it? I just bought it some days ago… Is this normal?

Thanks for your time and support!

Best,

Enahm

Some more info I just found out which may make the problem more specific,…:::

  • After the uploading stops, I can not acces My Cloud without having to turn it of,… Also I can not acces My Cloud Dashboard,… It does not see the device in network without having to turn it of and on (power suply)…

bit strange to me, should it not be accesible always?? If I would be out of my home, I would not be able to turn the electricty off and on :s

Thanks in advanced!

Hi WD Debunker,

Thanks for your reply! However, I can not imagine that WD is selling a device which does not work proper from the start?? Is there not any way to fix this? I do not care to spend time (bit **bleep**ty but hey) but do not want to wait a couple of months. I really need to make back ups of my footage :s

Thanks!

Enahm

How are you connected to the internet, who is your ISP?

How is your My Cloud set up and when you say hard disk do you mean from your computer or a attached HDD?

I have had my My Cloud for over a month and I have never lost the connection. I have TWC RoadRunner. My, My Cloud is connected to my router with a Ethernet cable. Both my computers connect by wifi. Most of the time I connect my phone by 3G.

My, My Cloud is a four terabyte and has half a terabyte of my transferred data on it. I transferred by both drag and drop and using WD SmartWare.

Hi cat0w!

Appreciate your reply!

How are you connected to the internet, who is your ISP?

My Cloud device (4Tb) is connected to the second port of my router, my desktop is connected tot he first port of the router, UPC is my Internet Server Provider.

How is your My Cloud set up and when you say hard disk do you mean from your computer or a attached HDD?

Setup directly to the router through ethernet cable, hard drive I mean a 3,5 inch drive, 2Tb from Freecom which is connected to a usb3 port on the desktop.

This is the second time now,… I did not unplug the My cloud device to see if it connects itself to my network again. (internet - router - computer). But over 1.5 hours now and still idle, while led light is firmly blue.

Thanks for your time again! Appreciate it

I am providing a link to the My Cloud User Manual. Open it up and click on Appendix B Troubleshooting and then scroll to P.123 and see if this is how you have your connections setup. According to the image your computer Ethernet cable should go to the Internet port and your My Cloud to one of the other ports.

Yes, that’s the way it is connected.

But thanks for your support! I am going to bring back the device,…
