Complete Drive Test on my 2 TB My Passport for Mac stops at 10% and reverts to 0%. Quick Drive Test passed. I want to check for bad sectors on my WD Drive that were present when it left the factory. How can I “complete” a Complete Drive Test?
Hi Macles,
You can test the drive using WD Drive Utilities.
Please refer to the link given below in order to download WD Drive Utilities
You can also perform the first Aid Test using Disk Utility.
Please refer to the link given below.
I already have downloaded WD Drive Utilities. That’s how I was able to perform a Quick Drive Test. When I tried to run the Complete Drive Test (in WD Drive Utilities), the test stopped at 10% and reverted to 0%. Thus, I could not run a Complete Drive Test. Using Disk Utility on my iMac, I did run First Aid on My Passport for Mac. Here are the results:
Repairing file system.
Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
Checking extents overflow file.
Checking catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking catalog hierarchy.
Checking extended attributes file.
Checking multi-linked directories.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.
The volume My Passport for Mac appears to be OK.
File system check exit code is 0.
Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.
Operation successful.
The report doesn’t mention checking for bad sectors.
HiMacles,
Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.
