I lost my composite cable and I’m having a really hard time trying to find a replacement. I have an older tv so I can’t really use any other output. Can someone help tell me if this would work? http://www.amazon.com/6FT-Camcorder-Video-Cable-Sony/dp/B000I1D0BW/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Thanks.
Welcome to the forums.
It’s tricky to use third-party cables with this unit – and no one can tell just by looking at a description. Your best bet is to order a replacement direct from WD:

You can use the component lead that came with your WDTV in place of the composite. See the FAQ above regarding the correct colors to use. A number of people have reported that the leads available are not wired in the same way as the WDTV. See the FAQ regarding the wiring arrangements necessary for the WDTV.
Perhaps you could go to a local electronics shop with the info and get them to check the wiring is OK. The important thing is that the screen / ground wire is connected to the sleeve of the 3.5mm plug. The RCA plug colors are irrelevant as long as the inner wires are connected to the tip, first ring and second ring of the 3.5mm plug.
