So I have a question in terms of network access to my Mycloud WD network drive.
So I have my WD connected to my router, and from there it’s access is broadcast to any device that can connect to it. This is great. the problem is when I’m working, I have to use a VPN to connect to my office’s network. This changes the IP address and network that’s used. So when I’m on the VPN I can’t access my private addressed network drive.
So my question is, is it possible to make my WD network drive use the external IP address of my router and then set up some sort of port forwarding to access the Drive? So that way I can use the external address and it would appear just as any other remote site to the VPN. So basically I want to be able to go to my folder and be able to access the drive as it were a folder on my PC as well, like if I were still on my local network.
