I was hoping to gt the WD my cloud miror to back up my files / work usage. I was wondering if I connected my LG smart TV to this device could I stream straight from it and watch videos etc on my tv? has anyone tried it with the LG tvs?
Also would I be able to save live tv on this? I was going to get an external hard drive to save the live tv to…but if this does the job then I wont have to
Being able to play files from and store data to your WD My Cloud Mirror depends on your television. If it supports DLNA or Network Shares then stored movies/pictures/music will be accessible, and compatible files holding the required specifications designated by your TV will be displayed.
Storing/saving live TV depends on the recording abilities and requirements of your TV.

This is going to be something you will need to research yourself by reading up on DVBLink. From what I have seen so far, very few people have installed the third party apps…and of those who did, several had issues. Most of the time they had to work out their own 3rd party app issues or give up if they were not very technical, esp. with Linux. So be prepared for that for third party apps.
DVb Link is a waste of time on the my cloud mirror… Dvb link installs fine, it streams content just fine (if you put externally created content in the folders) and almost every dvb addon installs fine, BUT, (and its a big but), the TVSource addon from within dvblink will not install on the mycloud mirror… Dvb links supports the ex2 and ex4 but not the my cloud mirror…
This little addon is the one that lets you recieve the television signal, so without it, DVB link is nothing…
Given this problem, I dont know why WD have even included it in the apps list, it makes no sense… I spent money buying the my cloud mirror and television tuner thinking it would replace my tivo (or connect to it), but it wont…
The platform is so locked down and restricted that your hands and shoelaces are tied with anything you want to do…
Bit irritated on this one
