Creating playlists?

I am using playlist creator 3.6.2 it works good but now that I am getting a few titles I cannot figure out how to just add new titles Instead it recreares the whole playlist. The instructions says you can do it but the way I understand it it still creates a whole new  playlist which takes awhile with more titles annoying does anyone know the solution to this?

Thanks

Terry

No matter what you do it has to write out the playlist (which is just an ASCII file) so there isn’t any way around it – adding more titles will still mean you have to make the list over again.

Well That stinks I can see over time it going to take hours to create one especially when I get hundreds of titles anyhow thanks for the time

Well, you don’t really have to use Playlist Creator – any decent text editor will open up that file and you can add to it yourself (it will require some typing, but if you *really* think it will take hours to create a list you could save yourself some time.  I’m very skeptical of that time estimate, though – I have five hundred movies in a playlist and it writes it in less than 10 seconds).

It must be because my movies are on a nas and I have 2 drives attached to that I have 35ish now and it takes about 3 to 4 minutes. So not sure why yours is so fast.

The first couple times I added movies it took a long time to rewrite the playlist.  Now when I add it only takes a couple seconds as Mike says. I dont know what changed but I know now its no big deal. I guess after awhile it doesnt have to rewrite all the data?  I dont really know why it changed

And mine on a NAS also

Terry,

I use an NAS that houses two drives as well, but my whole system is very fast (I have an i7 machine that I use as my primary computer).  Three to four minutes sounds excessive, though – perhaps your drives are too fragmented or there are other network issues you might want to try straightening out (Tony is the expert on helping with these).
