Sorry, this post isn’t actually a guide but my request for any help on subject.
I set up my WDTV HD live last night for the first time, all works lovely but music browsing is a pain the rear.
For info the unit it connected via ethernet to my PC in the other room that acts as a home theatre PC. No issues with connectivity, can see all media and all plays fine.
As I’m sure you all know all you get is the thumbnail view of all your albums which menas scrolling through hundreds of titles and actually using some thought as to what you might like to hear. I can’t be bothered with that!!!
Ideally I want the functionality of WMP11 on my WDTV, I know this is asking a bit much. But, is there any way that I can at least play saved playlists created on my HTPC to make things a little easier to manage?
Maybe I should have done more research before buying but I assumed (wrongly) that the unit would have some kind of playlist functionality built into it as standard.
Thanks for reading anyway, any hints/tips on making music easier to manage over a network is appreciated.
