I would like to buy a 2tb external drive with usb 3.0
What are the differences between the My Book 3.0 and the my Book Essential? Both have usb 3.0 with legacy usb 2.0! Even, if that is not really good explained in your Table for “desktop external hard disks”.
In the 2tb skus with only the hdds (without a host card adapter), I can’t see any differences.
From outside, both look the same – one is glossy, one is matte. But that’s it.
From the specs, both look the same. Only in the text, the 3.0 seems to be faster than the essential. But that could be an effect of “rounding” the numbers. There is no real info about speed and access time of the hdds.
The Essential has a software package… but even with that, it’s sold cheapter than the 3.0 ???
Please tell me the differences. Is one a caviar green and one a caviar blue?
And plesase put this differences in the description in your web site…
