Download Failed via Apps > FTP Downloads

I try to use the FTP Downloads app to download the file, setup everything and test result showing successful, but when I run the tasks, it shows Download Failed, what does it means?

no solution at the moment?

Hello there, welcome to the community.

Can you take a screeshot of the error and share it? keep in mind to remove the IP address of the server from the screeshot.

After i done the setup and test it, the result is successful

But when i run the task, it shows download failed

Hi there, in the settings do you have it to download a folder or a file? Becuase by the screenshots it looks like you are downloading a folder not a file.

yes, ofcourse, i have selected a valid folder to download it, but it still failed, eventhought i choose an option to download file also failed, but funny thing is i paste the exact URL on chrome browse and it works!

I am having a similar issue.

I have an 8TB EX2 and I have a seedbox - I am trying to download directly from the seedbox (which runs rutorrent) to my nas.

I have tried using the FTP download option in the ‘Apps’ section but it just keeps saying download failed.

I have tried using Transmission also from the Apps section but can’t seem to download directly from my seedbox via ftp.

I can easily set up P2P downloads, but this is not what I want.

I’d love to see if anyone has a resolution

Okay so just a heads up - I’ve resolved my issue.

To recap;

I have a seedbox (from seedboxes.cc) that I have a few torrents on, and I was using the Apps > FTP Downloads section to connect to the server.

After trying for what has seemed like weeks, receiving ‘successful’ messages when I test the connection but then the download will fail, it’s finally working.

As soon as I got my nas drive (Sunday), I immediately updated it to 1.05.36 and it’s never worked.

I downloaded 1.05.30 from the web and flashed the firmware again and tried the FTP: WORKS A DREAM.

So it seems that the 1.05.36 firmware is at fault here.

I downloaded 1.05.30 from here:  http://drivers.softpedia.com/blog/WD-My-Cloud-Devices-Benefit-from-Firmware-1-05-30-Download-Now-467662.shtml

Hope this helps someone somewhere!

BTW: Make sure you disable Auto Update in Settings > Firmware Update so you don’t get put back on 1.05.36.

Have a nice day!

so is there any solution???

i’m still waiting

Hi,

I had the same problem! After going back 1.05.30 the FTP Download of directorys works. It seems that there is an error in the current firmware. I hope it get fixed!

If you are certain there is a bug, then call up WD Tech Support and show it to them. Just saying there is a bug on this forum won’t get it fixed. This is a user-to-user forum.

i have one query does the ftp download directory can be set to monitor and do cron job on download automatically once the files are downloaded. Is there any specific file size restriction in the ftp app on account based download.

To all user’s give some glimpse on the FTP application overview and its limitation.

Its not available in any of the youtube video’s
