Drag and Drop?

Hey all (thanks for compatibility problem correction!)

Right, i hooked up an external drive to the Live Hub and ‘synched’ the full drive over (600GB).  However, i want to synch over another drive, but only certain files/folders.  When i try to do that all i get is the option to take everything over and not just to select the files i want.

I am not networked, i plugged the USB external drives into the front of the Hub.

Your post is blank, this site doesn’t support IE9, you’ll need to use a different browser.

OR follow the instructions here.

Just use the move option then.

i think i must be dim - i can’t see a ‘move’ option.

I plug in my external drive and the only option i get is to synch - when i click ok, the whole drive starts to transfer over.

Nah not dim at all.

But you have to remember some of us leave the drives attatched, we don’t synch anything.

Click cancel when it asks to synch, or you can turn off the synch command from the settings menu.

Let it build up the media library, then go into the drive and select a file or folder, click options and then move, I also think it allows you to multi select as well, if memory serves me.

Bear with me here…Hub is in a media Unit in lounge, under the TV, PC is in a bedroom.  I transferred across the bulk of my stuff using an external drive.  My plan now is, when i get a new movie/file etc, to put it on a portable drive from the PC, walk it to the lounge and transfer it the Hub.

Everytime i plug in the portable drive to the hub it transfers everything on the portable drive to the Hub (stuff i don’t want going across!)

I got around it the last time, by emptying the posrtable drive and only putting on the file i wanted transferring; but it seems a long way around to do a relatively easy single file transfer.

Ok.

There is a manual for this you know.

Settings

Operation - Synch from USB Storage - to Off.

Once you do that.

Connect your drive and et it find out whats on there.

Then select a folder/file

Select Options on remote

Move

Nice - will try in the morning - had enough today!

As for the manual (which didn’t come with the system)  I went to the WD website, found the manual and clicked print.  My printer showed 185 pages!!! So i clicked cancel (yes, i could have read it online).

But thanks for your help.

or save it to your computer and use a PDF reader.
