DVD/BR ISO Playing

Hi Everyone, I will be getting a WDTV Live Hub this week and was just wondering how it handles ISO disc images?, for instance if I have an ISO on the hard drive and play it through the WDTV live hub player does it play the DVD menu’s etc as though you have just put in a DVD?

Many thanks for any help.

DVDs yes, blu rays, no. Blu ray iso playback works -sort of - but there is no menu support. The “sort of” means that blu rays that have more than one episode that cannot be accessed without going back to the menu will only play one episode, usually the first. And there is no DTS-MA from the Hub.

The Dune players work very well with blu ray isos with full menu support, HD audio, etc., but don’t have Pandora, Netflix, etc.

The Hub has its place - I have more than one in my house and really llike them - but it also takes something like the Dune player to do everything.

I have just one question, What do you mean with “one episode”, is it the same case for a Film ?

The example he’s referring to is like for TV Series BD’s that have 7 or 8 episodes per disk.

The logic on the WD’s basically just has it looking for the longest M2TS file and playing only that file.

The WD’s play DVD ISOs quite nicely.   But since the WD’s don’t fully support Bluray file structures, playback of ISOs can be troublesome depending on how the disk is structured.
